The California endowment

Located near Lake Merritt in the heart of the business district, the Oakland conference center was conceived as an opportunity to ensure equitable access to meeting space in a rapidly changing neighborhood. It welcomes leaders, policymakers, residents, and youth to discuss debate, and come together.

  • PLEASONTON/LIVERMORE

    Take Highway I-580 W to Oakland.

    Merge onto I-980 W towards Downtown Oakland.

    Take the 18th/14th Street exit.

    Turn left on 17th Street. Follow 17th Street to Franklin Street.

    Turn left on Franklin Street, The Oakland Conference Center is located on the right corner of 20th & Franklin Street (next to Wells Fargo Bank).

    SACRAMENTO

    Take I-80 W to San Francisco.

    Take the exit to I-580 E towards Downtown Oakland.

    Merge onto I-980 W towards Downtown Oakland.

    Take the 18th/14th Street exit.

    Turn left on 17th Street. Follow 17th Street to Franklin Street.

    Take the Bay Bridge/Oakland to I-80 E.

Brookfield village Elementary

Located in the heart of East Oakland, Brookfield Village Elementary School is a treasured 81-year-old OUSD school site. Recently, Brookfield experienced programmatic transformations and structural upgrades. This includes the newly constructed soccer field curated by the OUSD Office of Expanded Learning, made possible by CDE ELOP grants, and the integration of OUSD’s first Montessori program model. Brookfield Village Elementary School is currently the Expanded Learning Office’s home base and generously houses many Expanded Learning YES! Sports events and district-wide professional development convenings.

    Take Highway I-880 N towards Oakland.

    Take the Hegenberer Rd./Coliseum exit.

    Turn right onto Edes Ave.

    Turn right onto Jones Ave. Brookfield Elementary will be on your right.

    DOWNTOWN OAKLAND

    Take I-800 S towards Hayward

    Take exit 35 for 98th Ave.

    Use the left lane to turn left onto 98th Ave.

    Turn left onto Ashton Ave.

    Turn left onto Jones Ave. Brookfield Elementary will be on your right.

  • Public Parking:

    There is free street parking on Jones Ave. including handicap parking.

    There is a parking lot with limited spots, open to all participants and guests on Jones Ave, on the right side of the school building.

    There is also accessible parking through the gate on the right side of the school, towards the school's playground.

    Vendors and Presenters:

    If you need to load in equipment, you can use the vendor load-in gate between the parking lot and the building’s main entrance.
